Day 1. Square 1 Travel @ Eta Bus Tours coastal cruise getaway. Had an early start to the day with home pickups and headed over to canada place to board the Nieuw Amsterdam cruise ship headed on a 3 day cruise to San Francisco .The ship is simply gorgeous and the staff so helpful and friendly.The daily events range from cooking demostrations, talent shows,tea time,theatre shows,live bands in the evening.The comedy show last night was just hilarious so entertaining.Selection of food to please everyone. Good job there is a gym to burn off some calories.
Day 2 Astoria ...Nice little town on the Columbia river with the longest floatingbridge in North America.It actually connect Oregon to Washington. Quaint shops and coffee houses to enjoy.
DAY 3. Full day at sea , had a wonderful lunch in the Pinnacle grill.So many great things to do on board, from fitness training in the morning,dance lessons,flower arranging.listening to great classical, or blues. One can stay busy every minute of the day. The evening show was terrific ...a musical called Astoria. Cruise director was very entertaining.told us a few funny questions he gets asked on a regular basis.
1. Do... the stairs go down as well
2. What elevator will take me to the front of the ship
3. Does the ship run on electric power
Answer was YES currently we r plugged into Seattle with a very long extention cord...
4. Does the crew sleep onboard?
5. Is the water in the toilet seawater?

Day 4. San Francisco. We arrived into port at 10am and transfered to the Triton Hotel a trendy heritage hotel steps from Chinatown and Union Square. We all had a 48hr hop onhop off bus pass which is highly recommened to get around the city.Only 4 stops fromFishermans Wharf which is such a terrific place to wander around, little shops offering souveniers, and the seafood. Yum yum my lunch was clam chowder inside a sourdough bread... bun....hard to finish it all. It is fleet week here rightnow so the town is busy busy. Live music and street performers are fun to watch. A few of us went on the night tour which toured around the bay, embarcadero,golden gate bridge,baybridge ,up to nob hill and the presido areas. Traveling up to nob hill the highest part of the. city offered fabulous views. After a long day off to sleep to start again tommorrow..
DAY 5..today a few of us took in a walking tour of Chinatown.It was really informative .San Francisco 's Chinatown is the oldest in north america with the highest density.75,000 people live within 3 square blocks. We.visited a rare fortune cookie factory still making homemade cookies..they were delicious .....interesting fact the fortune cookie was discovered by a Japanese man..Lots of shopping close by from louis vutton,valentino,macys..alone with cute little boutiques.Off to LAS VEGAS tommorrow for 3 nts....
Day 6 & 7 LAS VEGAS...arrived and transferred to the Monte .Carlo Resort . Vegas is definately the city of excitment.So many things to take in from shows,gambling,great food and of course just walking the strip.Very easy to get around now with the trams from hotel to hotel and the great buses.I took in the. Criss Angel show at the Luxor.WOW is all I can say.I had row 8 seats and experienced the magic close up. During one act he ...locked himself into a big box then appeared 6 seats down from me the audience. Made a motorcycle appear on the stage, doves appear from tissues and fly into the theatre.Great show.We had a few win at the casino which was great..and us dollars.
A trip downtown to Fremont st is a must.There are street performers,bands,great drink specials and of course the Zipline thru town.Yes I did it.. Very fun..Everyone had a terrific time and I think ready to head home for a rest.. next May 2017 we will offer the same trip but in reverse..
